TODAY'S PERSPECTIVE
Insider tips for AI waitlists
Why do AI companies launch waitlists, how do you get on them, and what are the workarounds you should know?
If you’re on social media, you’re probably seeing the next craze as people explore OpenAI’s Code Interpreter. Unfortunately, most people don’t have access yet.
So we wanted to take today’s edition to explain how you can make the most out of waitlists for AI products in your business or work. We’ve also got a full breakdown of note-worthy waitlists to make sure you’re on below.
Let’s dig in.
First, it’s important to understand why companies are using waitlists for AI products. The reality is that this type of AI tech is very very new, and chatbots and other AI features can be challenging to test without real people using them. As a result, companies often use waitlists or pre-announcements to get people to test their products, without risking people finding out about the product before they announced it.
The annoying part is that these waitlists can grow very large and move very slowly.
But, we’ve got good news too. There are ways you can stay ahead of the curve:
Get on waitlists early: as soon as you hear about an AI product that could benefit your business, join the waitlist. We like to sign up with “+waitlist” to our emails (like [email protected]) because then you can easily search email confirmations of those waitlists later. And that helps because there are so many of them!
Stay informed on what is getting people off waitlists: some companies will share the criteria they are using to give access to the product. For example, many of OpenAI’s newest features are rolling out to ChatGPT Plus subscribers first.
Find workarounds in the meantime: This isn’t great advice, but it’s honest. Sometimes these waitlists will move sloooowwww. So you may also want to pay attention to short-term ways to get access to something similar.
And if you haven’t been following closely — don’t worry. We’ve got you.
Below we’ve compiled the most anticipated AI product waitlists, their current status and links to go join. 👇
USE CASE DEEP DIVE
Analyze news articles at scale
As you know, we’re always looking for ways to use AI more in our operations. And then we share what we’re doing with y’all. (Kind of like an AI R&D team for the public!)
So this is part of a system we’ve set up to use ChatGPT to analyze news at scale (yes - there’s that much happening 🔥)
First, you need to set up an RSS feed. These are like APIs, but for content, and give you a notification every time a news article is published.
Then, you connect to an automation tool like Zapier or Make. This allows us to automatically send new articles to ChatGPT and ask for the topic, sentiment (positive or negative), or even a summary.
Once we have that information, we send it to a tool that we use on a regular basis, like Slack. Or directly into a Google Sheet for further analysis.
Premium Subscribers: you can build your own AI-powered news analyzer using our newest tutorial, check it out here.
